My Story
How I Began and Where I’m Headed
How in the world does a person "decide" to become a personal advancement coach,
and why in the world would anyone choose to hire such a person?

These are both valid questions. There are dozens of possible responses to both of them.
Let me give you my personal experience and you can decide for yourself if personal advancement is something you can benefit from.

For much of my life I felt second class. Intellectually, there was no reason for these feelings, but emotionally, there were circumstances that caused me to feel inferior. In my mid-twenties, I realized there were all kinds of resources available in the form of positive mental attitude books. I absorbed as much of Dale Carnegie, Zig Ziglar, Og Mandino, Stephen Covey and James Allen as I could stand. I became a fountain of positivity. In spite of being born with cerebral palsy, my dad leaving mom and I when I was eight, bouts of depression and a malignant brain tumor at 35, I was one positive dude.

But there was one thing that I always seemed to lack, it was elusive and ethereal and I didn't know how to get it and hold onto it.
That missing piece was clarity.

Why am I so passionate about helping people figure out what they're supposed to be doing (finding clarity), and then helping them find the WHY to see it through? Because for whatever reason, I'm naturally wired to do so. Helping other people find success, and each person defines success differently, is the only way that I can be truly successful.

Who hires coaches? Any person that wants to accomplish something. Olympians, professional athletes, musicians, actors.
But what about you? How could a coach help you?
When looking for a curriculum that would provide me with the training and tools to be the best possible resource for businesses, individuals, non-profits and churches alike, I chose the Maxwell Certified Leadership Team because of it's integrity, ongoing training opportunities and alignment with my core values. As a Maxwell certified DISC trainer, I have the tools to help anyone better understand themselves and how they communicate, as well as help them understand why their spouse, kids, supervisor or friends drive them nuts sometimes!

Maybe you have a goal you're trying to achieve, but you just can't seem to make it happen. Maybe you've been considering changing careers, or starting your own business, and you just don't know where to begin. Your organization could possibly benefit from better communication skills based on behavioral analyses. Coaches don't have all the answers, but we do provide a safe environment for you to explore what you might could or would do if given the freedom to consider and the accountability to keep your dreams and goals in front of you. Coaches aren't magic genies, but the process is so powerful that it can change the course of your life.

The initial conversation, or discovery call, can help determine if I might be a fit for you or your organization.
Not every client is a fit, and that's ok. Personal growth and organizational improvement is a conscious choice.
I trust you choose well!
